This is a very pleasant little pub with a few rooms. Traditional in style, my room was large, clean and comfortable. The openable window looked out over the road, but it is such a quiet place that there was no issue whatever with traffic. Yes, some of the furniture is a bit dated, so don't expect the sharp decor of a modern chain hotel, but rather a room with character, not to mention the original wooden beams. I was tired when I arrived, so decided to eat in and enjoyed an excellent meal with lots of vegetables at a very fair price. Breakfast was also excellent, with a wide choice of the usual English staples. Most of all, I valued the friendliness of Jason the landlord who did his best from the start to help me feel comfortable and welcome and then to resolve a problem with my vehicle that ocurred on the way down. I look forward to staying again next time I am in Somerset.

This was a marvellous stay! I am absolutely unable to fault them! Marvellous location, lovely quiet village. The pub itself is old and beautiful. The facilities are spot on, everything is clean. The beds are great. And as for the food - out of this world! We took our evening meal there on the day of arrival and the main course was very good. Then we came to the dessert - this was home made and so good that we all wished that we had room for a second helping. I would particularly recommend the bread and butter pudding with mincemeat - I wish that I could have sneaked a peek at the recipe! We'll just have to go back there the next time that we are in the U.K.! In other words, highly recommended and we have already marked it on our list of the best places to stay!

All good.. my arrival was late in the evening and I had no problem checking into the room quickly. Well appointed room was a tad noisy for a short while ( to be expected given the room above the bar ) but soon quietened down after closing time. All room facilities in GWO and I slept well. Excellent greeting in the morning from staff and breakfast was very good and tasty though had to wolf it down as needed to leave quite quickly ( will allow more time to enjoy it next time ). Settling accounts was straightforward and allowed me to get on my way as quickly as possible .

This is a lovely family run hotel/pub in Wadebridge a village outside of Chard. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and we had a fabulous full English breakfast the first morning and two lovely meals in the evenings. The owners and staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. For us it was a quiet base to explore the local countryside with the bonus of a pint of ale to relax with at the end of the day without having to worry about driving.

The hospitality was outstanding, we sadly had our car breakdown on the way to Somerset and ended up leaving it at the hotel for the week. They even tried to help us with sorting a garage too, nothing was too much trouble. We had our dog stay for free which when you compare to other hotels was amazing. He even got included in breakfast with a sausage. Such friendly staff. Absolutely no complaints. Lovely room and breakfast.
